On Monday, Colorado kicks off the largest zero-fare transit program in the country with 30 agencies poised to waive fares all day, every day of August. Combined, the agencies participating have an average monthly ridership of over 5.8 million trips.

Statement: Climate deal would reinstate much needed ‘polluter pays’ tax on oil industry

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia have reached a deal on a reconciliation bill that, among major climate and energy efficiency provisions, includes an oil excise tax to fund Superfund toxic waste site cleanups nationwide. If passed, this bill would reinstate one of several “polluter pays” taxes that was allowed to lapse 26 years ago.

Aspen tackles transportation emissions through “GoEV City” 100% electric vehicle commitment

Last week, Aspen City Council voted to approve a resolution declaring the mountain town a “GoEV City” by adopting a resolution to achieve 100% zero-emission transportation by 2050.

Thirteen organizations call on Regional Air Quality Board (RAQC) to strengthen ozone pollution reduction plan

As the Regional Air Quality Board (RAQC) prepares to adopt a plan to address ozone pollution in the Denver Metro/North Front Range region, thirteen organizations submitted a letter calling for greater action to reduce dangerous ground-level ozone pollution. After a record-breaking ozone alert season, the RAQC is scheduled to approve a State Implementation Plan (SIP) on August 5 that is supposed to put the region on track to meet EPA air quality targets.
